This game is fucking awesome. Finally something with a challenge.

Despite this game being the hardest game on Newgrounds. There are areas where it can be pretty forgiving. My personal favorite moment so far is jumping through a missile. As for beating it, I'm having trouble where there are two missile launchers with 4 coming out of each. I'm super reluctant at using the video walkthrough... I just might.

I don't love it, sorry. There's hard, and then there's frustrating, they're not the same thing.

I agree with Skeik-Sprite.

I like the visual style of the game, but the jumping is way off... you get caught in the air going the wrong speed and you're screwed.

The collision detection is painfully picky, you have to hit the crabs dead center or you die... even if it doesn't look like I touched one at all. The level design is decent, challenging but not sadistic.

I don't like the jump that requires the player to keep track of where they are while above the screen. The screen should scroll if I need to be up there. You could be above the screen in SMB, but you're never required to do so. You may have seen it as an extra challenge but I just saw it as bad design. Logically, there is no reason I shouldn't be able to see my character, if my character can see. Maybe the clouds are thick up there? I dunno.

After a certain number of failed attempts, an ad appeared. Not cool. Instead of waiting for it, I stopped playing and gave you your score.

This is probably a good game, but it's not a great game, and most of its challenge is artificial (from what I saw). I don't believe it is the "hardest game on newgrounds" - that is a vague and misleading title. If I made a game where you had to input 230d2049 to win, and didn't tell anyone the password, that game would be pretty hard, but technically possible to win. What do you think it means to be a "hard" game? I'm not sure now that I think about it.

-The detection is as specific as it should be. Crabs are harder than Goombas because they have claws...deal with it.
-There are no landings that depend on you knowing where you are above the screen.

To clarify, I meant the part where you have to jump above the screen, land on a 1-tile wide metal beam, and jump to something else.

Hi i'm a video game critic and I rate peoples' games based on how fast I can win medals and beat the first level. This, my friend, is total crap. You can't get the medals and you can't beat the first level without dying. This game should be split up into different levels with more lives. You'd have to change the name to Super Mario Clone ReduXX but I think it's worth it to make a mario game instead of your own ideas or people won't like it. I rate it 2/5 stars because I am too used to mario physics and that displeases me when people trick me with clones that aren't actual clones.

I have no problem with a game being hard. Hell, right now I'm battering my brains out trying to beat MoneySeize, despite it's maniacal difficulty. But your game is just another example of hardness solely for the sake of making a hard game as opposed to hardness to provide a pleasureable challenge.

In your game, the enemies have very odd hitboxes in which you have to hit them within 2-4 sprites dead on just to kill them. This isn't a fun degree of difficulty, it's poor gameplay design, and that's why everyone is down voting your game. I could go on and on about the poor choices you've made here, and how you could clean it up, but it doesn't seem to be worth the time because you are too stubborn to admit that the game is rage-quit hard, not "Aww, man! If I just would have done this, I could have beaten the level, I'll get it next time!" hard...

The farthest I got was to a little after the Lastman made of blocks. Am I (kinda) close to the finish?

The LASTMAN area is about 3 quarters in.

This game reminds me of SMB2 so much. Never could get past world 2.
